Letter 51

June 29, 2011

Dear Mom,

A quick note, if that is possible being it's me, to accompany the visitation forms. J and I are doing okay for now. The situation with J's funds has been resolved so disregard my request for help. Things are easier in a single sense, but quite a lot more restrictive/confining in others. It is impossible to explain what I mean, the letter having to go in front of a censor before it gets to you, so that aspect will have to remain unresolved until a later date.

In a letter to Renelle (actually in response to an 8:00 p.m. unabridged compendium) J expressed more than a passing interest in divesting himself from outmoded behavior/attitudes that have held him back educationally. I told him, hoping I didn't involve you in some sort of freak show, that you could possibly help. It's all just at the beginning stage of talking about these old attitudes, sort of comparing scars. I can imagine how this is going to be received by Renelle.

He wants to become more fluent in converting his Spanish thoughts to English words, and maybe put them on paper. Like I say, this is all preliminary right now...though if it comes together I feel it would be quite an epic.

I'm disappointed about not getting to visit Laura this time around but I am unable to see any good coming from forcing the issue.

I'm glad you were able to meet Renelle's sister Margo and have a dulcimer artist to reach out to. One thing more before I get this ready for the mail: I'm growing more concerned about Aunt Chee Chee's welfare. I guess nothing serious has happened, but I haven't received anything from her to let me know positively that she is unharmed by the wild fires that are in three states and still spreading.

There goes the light to see by, so I'm pretty much done.

Much love and regards to all,

James
